<p>Today we&#8217;re going to talk about cholesterol and cholesterol drugs. Now, let&#8217;s start by talking a little bit about cholesterol and why it&#8217;s important. First of all, it&#8217;s important because we need cholesterol for every single cell of the body the integrity of every cell requires cholesterol,  also cholesterol plays a very important role in hormone distribution throughout the body, including sex hormones, estrogen, testosterone and your adrenal hormones. The point I&#8217;m trying to make is that the common misconception that cholesterol is bad and the fact is, it&#8217;s a very important chemical that regulates healthy bodily function. Most people think cholesterol is bad, and we just want to get it out of our bodies by any means necessary, but I just want to clear up the fact that cholesterol is not “bad” early on in this article.</p>
<p>So it&#8217;s important to understand there is good cholesterol and bad cholesterol. Not all cholesterol is a like when you get a blood test done. They will give you results that include HDL cholesterol LDL cholesterol and triglycerides. HDL is your good cholesterol that actually grabs the bad cholesterol and delivers it from your body. When the body is specially taxed or latent and with toxins and heavy metals cholesterol is one of the means. The body uses to remove these harmful toxins and metals from our bodies.</p>
<p>Our body does not make mistakes. Our body doesn&#8217;t do things by accident; one of the signs of toxicity is elevated cholesterol especially HDL cholesterol many times when a person has elevated HDL cholesterol. It&#8217;s for a darn good reason. It&#8217;s the body&#8217;s way of telling you. You have a high toxicity and is doing everything it can to create additional cholesterol to help shuttle this toxicity from your body. It scrapes buildup from artery walls and send it where? Your blood stream for disposal.</p>
<p>So you don&#8217;t necessarily always want to take cholesterol drugs when your body is in the middle of removing harmful toxins and heavy metals. By doing this you would naturally defeat the purpose of your body working overtime to elevate your cholesterol levels by taking medication to reduce these levels. You not only tax the body, but increase toxicity levels via prescription drugs.  There are a number of reasons a person can have elevated cholesterol. One of them is heavy metal toxicity. Another reason, we can have high cholesterol is about 60% of America is running around dehydrated hydration has a significant impact on your cholesterol levels. Since every cell in the body is surrounded with cholesterol. If your body is stuck in a chronic state of stress for an extended period of time the body is going to make more cholesterol to synthesize stress hormones. So you can see there are a number of important reasons why having a high level of cholesterol, may be an indication of the body&#8217;s normal adaptive mechanisms at work doing the right thing for your health. Again, the body does not make mistakes.</p>
<p><strong>Statin Drugs: </strong></p>
<p>It&#8217;s very important to understand Statin drugs. Not only what they do to the body, but where they came from for many years. The primary derivatives of this drug were Chinese rice, and this was the main means a practitioner or a doctor would use to lower a patient&#8217;s cholesterol. Then the drug companies stepped in and decided to synthesize Chinese rice and its derivatives. Then along came Lipitor and of course about the same time the FDA decided that the Chinese rice was not safe and pulled it off the market although we had been using it for years, with wonderful results. You know what my father I was used to say, follow the money $$. They made the manufacturers of Chinese rice remove all health claims that it could lower cholesterol.</p>
<p>Lipitor like its younger derivatives, and some of the other brand-name drugs out there produce side effects. You&#8217;ve heard the commercials or read the warning labels. Contact your doctor if you start having leg pains or cramps and a number of other unpleasant side effects, muscle pains and weakness if you are experiencing any of these side effects. If you look at Italy It is the third healthiest nation on the planet. If you love meat stick with the white meats, IE: Chicken, Fish &amp; Turkey.</p>
<p>If you look at the average diet In Italy, they are very low in trans fats the way these drug companies are marketing how cholesterol works in the body it’s like it&#8217;s attacking every cell in your body and it is going to kill you in a matter of months, unless you take their magic pills. I hope you&#8217;ve learned, that is just not the case. In a normal healthy, smooth cell and blood vessel. There is no place for those cholesterol molecules to latch onto.</p>
<p>So eliminate trans fats and other inflammatory producing foods, caffeine, red meat, processed sugar that go into the body and create inflammation. If you can minimize these foods you can eliminate the need for taking these drugs. Eggs have certainly gotten a bad rap in the cholesterol game there was a study done at the University of Alabama that was contradictory to the food and drug administration’s study. The FDA did a study on eggs and gave a controlled group, a certain amount of eggs for a number of months. <p>The recent study at the University of Alabama found that the FDA didn&#8217;t complete their study. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Today I want to give you two reasons why you have high cholesterol. Now don&#8217;t get me wrong. There are plenty of reasons why people have high cholesterol, but I&#8217;m just going to give you two of them today. First one I want to talk about his too much sugar intake, and I&#8217;m not just talking about regular sugar. I&#8217;m talking about sucrose, fructose, including carbohydrates and glycogen.</p>
<p>The liver stores glycogen to use as energy. However, if you have a sedentary lifestyle, and you&#8217;re not using this stored energy anywhere else. Your body converts the excess sugar into cholesterol and fatty acids, including triglycerides that get circulated throughout the body. So people that have a diet that is high in carbohydrates or high in sugar (even vegetarians have high cholesterol) can easily lead to high cholesterol.</p>
<p>Many vegetarians are surprised to find they have high cholesterol, because they don&#8217;t eat red meat and red meat can be a significant contributing factor to high cholesterol but it is only one of the many sources of cholesterol. Many people, after having their blood panels done will inevitably get the letter or call from their doctor as I did recently telling you your cholesterol is right on the money. However your triglycerides are sky high. This simply means you&#8217;re taking in a diet that is way too high in carbohydrates</p>
<p>Another reason why you can have high cholesterol is extremely low carbohydrate diets. Our bodies need protein and fats in order to survive. Our body utilizes fat cells to transport or months throughout the body which regulates normal bodily function on many levels and our body uses these oils as an anti-inflammatory.  When you don&#8217;t eat enough fat your body releases, an enzyme called HMG and insulin to compensate for the lack of fat intake, which leads to firstly and most importantly, hormone imbalance!</p>
<p>Starting to make sense, now, isn&#8217;t it. This is why so many people went on diets have mood swings or alterations from depressed to happy than sad, including sleeplessness or oversleeping, because the body is having a difficult time regulating hormones. So it&#8217;s important to find a healthy balance between fat intake and carbohydrate intake and to be consistent. This is also one of the reasons why you&#8217;ll your dieting is so harmful long-term. And why a person can be so darn moody when losing weight and putting it back on again, because your hormones are fluctuating like crazy.</p>
<p>The interesting thing is when you eat fats. It down regulates insulin, because you don&#8217;t release insulin. When you eat fat, and the only way you can store fat is in the presence of insulin the fat actually inhibits the HMG Enzyme.  It shuts off the body&#8217;s ability to convert sugar to excess cholesterol. This is why people that eat a low-fat diet or a diet that is low in protein or a diet that&#8217;s high in carbohydrates and low in fat are having cholesterol problems. It takes fat to lose fat, but its healthy fat. You have to balance the Omega six and omega-3 fatty acids over time to bring your cholesterol to healthy levels.</p>

<p>The first thing I need to touch on is that I am not a doctor. And this is in no way medical advice, should you decide to make any changes in your diet or exercise program, including drugs and supplements you should first always talk to your doctor.</p>
<p>The study I came across was rather small. However, the the results were significant none the less the niacin they used in this study was not a regular over-the-counter store-bought that can be had at any health store. It was prescribed and time released, great idea as this reduces the effect of hot flashes. When taking niacin. For those of you that have never taken a niacin supplement before generally 10 to 20 minutes after taking the supplement. You get a mild to moderate hot flash. Almost like youth had too much hot sauce and can also get a burning sensation in your stomach that quickly resides. After just a few minutes. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The human body needs fat, both &#8220;good&#8221; and &#8220;bad&#8221; fat, that is, both n-6 essential fatty acids and n-3 essential fatty acids. The problem for most people is that they get way too much of the n-6 essential fatty acids and not nearly enough of the n-3&#8242;s.</p>
<p>The n-6 essential fatty acids are found in corn oil, safflower oil, canola oil, and other, cheaper cooking oils. The n-3 essential fatty acids are found in nuts, olive oil, grape seed oil, and cold-water fish (and, to a much lesser extent, shellfish and warm-water fish). Chances are you get plenty of the n-6&#8242;s without trying, but you can improve your health by eating a handful of nuts, or a serving of fish, or a tablespoon of healthy oil every day.</p>
<p>The benefits of healthy fat are especially noticeable in the skin. The skin depends on small layer of healthy fat to keep it supple, flexible, and smoothly contoured. Antioxidants keep this fat healthy. The usefulness of fat in the skin, however, is not limited to its lower fat layer.</p>
<p>Every cell in the skin, epidermis, dermis, and fat, is lined with fatty phospholipids. These phospholipids perform the same role as a raincoat protecting you from the rain. The contents of a cell are water-soluble. The blood, of course, is mostly water. If it were not for the fatty protective layer of phospholipids in the membrane of a cell, it would literally melt into sugars and salts in the bloodstream.</p>
<p>One of the most potent protectors of the fatty lipids in skin is the best-known form of vitamin E, alpha-tocopherol. There is no doubt that this form of vitamin E is extraordinarily helpful in maintaining healthy skin cells. Cosmetics manufacturers have been adding alpha-tocopherol, alpha-tocopherol acetate, and alpha-tocopherol succinate (the latter two chemicals being forms of vitamin E modified for delivery into the lower layers of the skin) since 1970.</p>
<p>What skin researchers know now, however, is that the other forms of vitamin E have special roles in skin health. The tocotrienols are specialized chemicals that are known as &#8220;unsaturated,&#8221; in the same way that fat can be &#8220;unsaturated.&#8221;</p>
<p>Just like unsaturated fat, the unsaturated tocotrienols can lower cholesterol, except these forms of vitamin E can lower cholesterol even more effectively than drugs like Lipitor and have no side effects. They prevent free radical damage to the cholesterol that remains. And they do something just as amazing in the skin.</p>
<p>By being unsaturated, the tocotrienols are chemically able to absorb a major bombardment of free radicals. These forms of vitamin are from 40 to 50 times more potent as antioxidants than the &#8220;old&#8221; form of vitamin E, alpha-tocopherol. They move around the cell, scooping up free radicals of oxygen with warp speed.</p>
<p>Tocotrienols are highly concentrated in nuts, rice bran, and hearts of palm. Along with lemon juice, these are wonderful foods for healthy skin, even though they contain a little fat. These naturally rich sources of antioxidant E are most useful in treating wrinkles in dry skin. They also relieve redness and scaling, and prevent fingernails from cracking and peeling. They provide all-day protection from the sun.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>If you can keep off the weight you lose when you go on a low-calorie diet, chances are you are one of the growing numbers of people for whom the old adage &#8220;You have to burn more calories than you consume to lose weight&#8221; just does not work.</p>
<p>Most of the time when overweight persists despite best efforts to lose weight, the problem is insulin resistance (a condition in which body cells become less sensitive to the glucose-lowering effects of the hormone insulin).</p>
<p>The evidence for insulin resistance is a simple blood test. You prick your finger, let a drop of blood be absorbed on a slide placed in the side of a glucometer, wait about 10 seconds, and then you have your blood sugar reading. High blood sugar readings that don&#8217;t suggest insulin-dependent diabetes are a good indication of insulin resistance.</p>
<p>This all-too-common problem can be caused by internal inflammation. As you may recall from earlier in the book, lemon juice is one of nature&#8217;s best inflammation-fighters. Insulin resistance is also common in people who have eaten high sugar diets all their lives.</p>
<p>The lemon juice diet helps people enjoy sweet tastes without having to eat sugary foods.  Depletion of chromium and magnesium can also cause insulin resistance, but you will get plenty of those important minerals if you eat the fruits and vegetables I recommend you eat every day.</p>
<p>And another very common factor in insulin resistance is chronically high stress levels. What is the most common source of stress? Actually, stress about being too fat or too heavy is one of the most widespread causes of stress, even more common than stress about financial or family issues or bad health.</p>
<p>Simply sticking to the lemon juice plan long enough will reduce this particular kind of stress and indirectly help you lose the belly fat that is deposited with the help of the stress hormone cortisol.</p>
<p>Doctors often find that hormonal imbalances interfere with weight loss. It is not unusual at all to find that thyroid hormones are low in people who have trouble losing weight. The additional vitamin C you will get from lemon juice helps stimulate the conversion of the &#8220;bloodstream version&#8221; of thyroid hormone, T4, into the &#8220;fat burning version&#8221; of thyroid hormone, T3.</p>
<p>Weight problems are also often linked to imbalances in sex hormones. The bodies of both men and women produce both estrogen and testosterone, although men&#8217;s bodies produce very little estrogen and woman&#8217;s bodies produce very little testosterone.</p>
<p>Excess amounts of these hormones are excreted by the liver into the colon to be mixed with waste matter, but if there is not enough fiber in the diet, these hormones can be reabsorbed into the bloodstream. My diet recommendations provide your body with the fiber it needs to make sure excess estrogen and testosterone do not get back into your bloodstream.</p>
<p>You don&#8217;t have to lose drastic amounts of weight to feel better and improve your health. Even 5 or 6 pounds (2 or 3 kilos) can make a real difference. The addition of lemon and other healthy plant foods into your diet can cut down inflammation and allergy so much that you benefit in many of the same ways as if you had lost a lot more weight. You can still lose more pounds, but why not feel better even earlier in the process?</p>
<p>While lemon lays the foundation for powerful benefits to your health, some people can benefit from some nutritional supplements and dietary fine-tuning. I will discuss a little later in this chapter. But first let me tell you the stories of two people told to me by a health writer in America. These two people are a good example of a person who can benefit from a simple lemon juice diet and a person whose diet needed an even greater boost.</p>

If you take the train for example, or the subway or bus to your job each day then you can get off three or four stops early and walk the rest of the way there.</p>
<p>Sure that’s 10 more minutes to your commute but you’ve just gotten your daily does of exercise. The process may be consuming but it should be a small price to pay if you’re serious about getting healthier and happier. Also if you own a car then instead of parking so close to your destination all the time, go a bit further out and walk the rest of the way. Or take the stairs instead of the elevator and lose 12.5 calories simply by climbing up and down the height of them.</p>
<p>Maybe you’re very busy with not only work, but also friends, family, and home. Whether you’re a housewife or househusband you still don’t have an excuse to skip out on exercising. You could create a series of exercises that you enjoy that the whole family can participate in. If your children can’t swim then now is the perfect excuse you need to teach them, or you, an invaluable skill that could one day save their lives.</p>
<p>Even everyday activities around your home can burn calories. From washing the car, to vacuuming, to digging and weeding the garden, any form of activity and exercise is a wonderful place to start. You’re daily routines can be used as the building blocks that will change your life and the way you see yourself.</p>

There will of course come a time when you’ll crave something else in which case you’ll have to find a balance. If you like tea or coffee you’re consuming things that have a diuretic. So for every cup of coffee or tea, you need an addition two glasses of water to replace the lost fluids.</p>
<p>This is the same as how some medicines have herbs in them that are diuretic in nature so you need to drink a lot of water when you take them in order to keep your fluids up. Add water’s benefits to the fact that it contains no calories at all and you can understand why water should become an essential part of any successful weight loss plan.</p>
