There is a lot of people who are turning into vegetarians for various reasons, and one of the major reasons are weight-loss and health related. Even still vegetarians have an enormous amount of choices when it comes to weight loss meals. With creative innovations in planning meals, and preparing them with a large selection of viable foods there is no limit to what you can create. Here are some ideas for any taste, budget, and personal preference in your weight loss efforts:

Weight Loss Meal Ideas For On The Go:

  1. Tacos: When you are pinched for time and just need something quick and tasty- opt for a soft taco filled with greens, tomatoes, and beans. This will provide you with energy, protein, and substance in a hurry.
  2. Veggie Burger Lunch: Try eating a veggie burger on a whole grain bun with a tossed salad, low fat dressing, and a glass of soy milk.
  3. Go Frozen: The  grocery stores freezers are packed with new frozen meals that have nutritious labeling and all of the necessities you need when keeping track of calories, and fats. They also have some creative dishes in a large selection that you can stock up on for when you are in a hurry to eat, but have no time to cook. This is ideal for people with a hectic lifestyle.

For The Entire Family:

  1. Falafel stuffed whole grain pita with a cucumber salad with or without cheese. Try a glass of tomato juice or a fruity juice for your beverage.
  2. Vegetable soup, use veggie broth and brew the flavors together and have a heart soup for dinner that the entire family will enjoy, especially yummy in the winter. Serve with a side of hearty grain bread that is extra crusty and appetizing minus the butter or margarine.
  3. Light eating can amount to a PB&J Sandwich used with sugar free jelly, peanut butter, and whole grain bread. Try applesauce, or bananas on the side, and of course a glass of soy milk to wash it down. If you really want flavor also side with a cup of low-fat soy yogurt.

Easy & Affordable:

  1. Meatless chili is delicious served with cornbread. Try this one when you want something hearty, however  eat in moderation as it will set in your stomach like a rock. Try to use the margarine sparingly, and add some extra spice such as cayenne to kick up your metabolism.
  2. Orange slices, hummus on whole grain flat bread topped with sprouts, and washed down with some green tea.

All of these in short are basic suggestions for vegetarian weight loss meals, however as mentioned previously, there are many resources on the Internet that can supply you with recipe, nutritional information, an in depth meals that will enable you to stay right on track with your diet!

I know it is hard changing but you can do it.

You should also start some easy exercises like Tai Chi. Or I can hook you up with some free Martial Arts Videos and you can start to train in the Martial Arts.

Also Distilled Water is your friend drink that throughout the day since you can not drink more than a few ounces at a time with the stomach you need to have a water bottle with you at all times. If you are drinking all day it will help you drink less when you eat. Also eating foods like fruit and vegetables that are high in natural fluid will help you when you can do that.

You should also consider eating non caloric foods like celery more often. A little will help the hunger and they are so full of water that it can help you.

Make certain that you are drinking a nutritional supplement as well because it is hard to balance your new diet when you can only eat a few ounces at a time.

Also do not forget to work on your personal issues. Whatever ones you have (like we all do) that make you overeat. If you do not you will replace your addiction to food in 1 year at 100lbs less with another addiction of some kind.

You are lucky because unlike many heavy guys you have been an athlete, so you know what it is like to be fit and feel the World at your feet. Start working some each day to get it back.

Also buddy park far away from the doors of the stores you go to, not right at the front.

Walk at least 30 minutes 4-5 days a week no matter what you do. This way you can lose 5-6 pounds a week and keep it off.

I am at 260 now but I want to get to 200 again and for me the only way there is exercise. I lead 4-5 classes a week now in Martial Arts.
